Since we have begun leading and guiding FUSE ON, we have assessed our internal operations and current client service issues.
We have also discussed with property management companies, property owners and investors the challenges they face with utility services management.
To drive forward we asked ourselves what is most important and impactful for our future.
1) Who is our service for ?
Given the multiple players, owners, PM companies, tenants and utility providers involved during the rental lifecycle, it is important to understand the needs of each.
Timing and management of utility services transitions and responsibilities always involve many players. Coordination and collaboration are critical.
2) What are the biggest challenges ?
How do I know it is on ? Who to contact ?, E-Mail, e-mail and more e-mail.
Dealing with the variety and differences of connecting multiple utilities vendors and keeping them connected. Processing and paying numerous bills across internal company structures.
Along with the overall cost burden of employing staff to handle and account for utilities.
3) How do we make it better ?
Electricity, water and gas services are necessities - period.
Regardless of who owns the property, who is managing it or who is renting it, today’s utility connection and bill payment processes are sub-par. Our background in property management of single-family rentals along with the knowledge inside FUSE ON has given us the exposure and real-life experience of the challenges of today’s utility management services
